Wee Isle Dairy Ltd is our family-owned and run business, set up primarily to manufacture artisan ice cream and to offer our milk in glass bottles, pasteurised the gentle, low-temperature old fashioned way.
We are now distributing our milk and ice cream to several dozen shops and hotels across Argyll, as well as to outlets in Edinburgh and Crieff.
Tarbert Farm is a small dairy farm on the Isle of Gigha off the southwest coast of Scotland, run by Emma Rennie Dennis and her brother Mark Rennie, where we milk roughly 60 cows. The herd is predominantly Friesian, with a few Jersey and other breeds. The farm is owned by the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust; Emma & Mark’s parents took on the lease in 1968.
Wee Isle Dairy Ltd is our company name, and Emma’s husband Don helps run the business. A young and very local team of highly skilled tasters help us with our ice cream recipe development.
